DEMOCRACY AND RULE OF LAW ARE OUR REASON FOR BEING

A bill of indictment against the President of Istanbul Bar Association Att. Mehmet Durakoğlu, Secretary General of Istanbul Bar Association and Coordinator of the Human Rights Center (“HRC”) of Istanbul Bar Association Att. Cengiz Yaka, President of HRC Att. Tuğçe Duygu Köksal, Vice-President of HRC Att. Yasemen Öztürkcan, Secretary General of HRC Att. Cenk Konukpay, on charges of “publicly humiliation of religious values of certain part of the population” under the Article 216/3 of Turkish Criminal Code has been filed by the  Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office of Bakırköy on account of our press release dated 26 April 2020 which was reminding human rights and the Constitutional provisions following a sermon of the President of Religious Affairs of Turkey on 24 April 2020.
