A DELEGATION OF FOREIGN LAWYERS VISIT ISTANBUL BAR ASSOCIATION

A delegation of 15 lawyers representing CCBE, UIA, Athens Bar Association, Berlin Bar Association, Brussels Bar Associations, Barcelona Bar Association, Liege Bar Association, Wien Bar Association, Italian National Bar Association , Italian Criminal Lawyers’ Association, French National Bar Council, Paris Bar Association, Lawyers without Borders, European Association of Lawyers for Democracy, European Democratic Lawyers, International Association of Lawyers and The Foundation of the Day of the Endangered Lawyer accompanied by lawyers from Progressive Lawyers Association (ÇHD) paid a visit to Istanbul Bar Association to meet with Atty. Mehmet Durakoğlu, President of Istanbul Bar Association at 13.30 on Tuesday, October 15, 2019. Atty. Dr. Ayça Özok Ener, Board Member of Istanbul Bar Association was also in attendance at the meeting.

Violation of defense rights and fair trial principle in the proceedings against lawyers, independence and impartiality of the judiciary in Turkey were among the major topics discussed during the meeting.
